Scenes from Moby Dick
It’s almost here. The posters have been hung up around town, the playbills have been sent to the printers, and the performers are perfecting their parts.
Let me tell you a little bit about a fun event that we’re hosting next week at the Plains Art Museum. We’re calling it ‘Scenes from Moby Dick,’ which just kind of rolls off the tongue. How fancy.
As the title suggests, this event isn’t quite a full opera. The entire Moby Dick opera is a little bit out of our reach with everything we have going on for the season, so we decided to just do a couple scenes from the opera, rather than the entire thing. I promise this is going to be just as exciting as a full opera, because really, who wouldn’t want to go sit in a concert at the Plains Art Museum for an hour listening to beautiful music while surrounded by art? It sure sounds like a wonderful time to me.
So here are the details. We here at the Opera and the individuals over at the Plains Art Museum are so excited to share this opportunity to sit and look at art while hearing art with you, so this event is free. Yep, you read me right. You and all your friends can come to the Plains Art Museum for free next week and be surrounded by two forms of art. Talk about a great deal!
